WHAT SHOULD WE AVOID WHEN WORKING IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY?
From my point of view, I would like to share some things to avoid when starting a career in the fashion industry. All of these will help create a more creative, civilized, and friendly work environment.

JUDGING BY APPEARANCE

Immediately judging others or making assumptions about their personal style is a hindrance to success and progress in the workplace. Some individuals may judge others simply because they have different tastes. Do not be quick to think they are "nothing special" or "not very impressive" until you have worked with them or recognized their efforts. Maintain an objective attitude and an open mind to help create a more creative environment.
EGOCENTRICITY OVERSHADOWING THE BIG PICTURE

Working in the fashion industry, you will encounter countless different personalities and contrasting creative ideas. Differences of opinion may arise, but mutual respect will save everyone. Each individual's style in the group may be unique, but subduing the ego and believing in the overall vision will create extraordinary things.
SOLE FOCUS ON CLOTHING

We often think that everything in the fashion industry is solely focused on the clothing on the runway. But for brands to sustain their collections and produce images, organize shows, they need financial - operational - marketing resources. The process of coming up with collections and designs is not continuous, and it occurs simultaneously with developing campaigns, customer engagement, developing collaboration relationships, and developing production processes to take up most of the time spent in a year.
LOSING YOUR AUTHENTICITY

Do you think that working at a fashion brand for too long will affect your personal style or the style of the creative director or boss around you? The truth is that most people will be affected in different ways. Learn from their positives, but do not lose yourself and become a "clone" of your boss.
That's why even though I've been working for 2 years now, I always try to maintain independence in terms of personal image, design, visual making and relationships.
UNDERRATING MARKETING COSTS
Financial resources of brands are not just focused on the design and production of collections, the cost of marketing and communication for each campaign, event, or moment is also very expensive. The marcom cost always comes with the production of visual content, public relations, booking KOLs, celebs, maintaining relationships with partners on special occasions, advertising…

ALWAYS WORKING ALONE
The creative industry requires moments of working independently and having your own space, but it doesn't mean that you will always have to solve everything on your own while working at a fashion company. All related departments from creative to marcom to production to sales to production of visual content are closely linked to launch a collection.
