HOW TO CHOOSE THE SUITABLE JOB IN FASHION?

CREATING 'FASHION MUST-HAVE LIST'

Confused about which job you are suitable for? Create a "Must-have list" of skills, elements, desires, and experiences in the fashion industry that you want to try or have in your career path. From there, we look for jobs that will allow us to do those things.

For example, a suitable job may be a fashion journalist if our must-have list has a copyrighter, fashion news, travel, and editor.

SUITABLE FOR YOUR VISION, GOUT & PERSONAL STRENGTHS

Choosing an environment and job in the fashion industry is based on not only the brand's reputation or salary but also suitability. Each individual has a different goal, strength, and taste; making the right choice helps us improve ourselves and be respected in the working environment. If we force ourselves too much with an inappropriate job, it is easy to fall into burnout and want to give up.

CONCLUSION FROM EXPERIENCES

For those who have been working, we can easily compare the pros and cons of each job. However, for those who do not have much experience, it is necessary to seek opportunities to work in the industry actively. Start working; we will know what is the right job for us.

  • Job searching on LinkedIn, Upwork, Fashion United, Glassdoor, Style Careers, BOF...

  • Supporting teams to make images, fashion shows, media projects,...

  • Applying and emailing brands and magazines (see 'Fashion Jobs of the Week' on Style-Republik).

CREATING 'FASHION DREAMBOARD'

A more creative and entertaining way to help support self-direction is to make "Dreamboard" - a platform that aggregates all images/videos/gifs about the working environment or things. I love fashion. When we manipulate visual images in our minds, we appear motivated and actively in control of our desires. Simply put, a dream board is a mood board that includes all photos of personal passions and dreams.
