WHAT DOES MEDIA IN FASHION SHOWS INVOLVE?

With experience in media communication for both large and small fashion events and working for a fashion magazine, I can attest that this job requires a high level of flexibility and the ability to handle situations on the fly. However, these experiences also provide us with exciting professional lessons.

1.CONNECTING WITH FASHION MAGAZINES AND WEBSITE

I still remember the nervous feeling when leading editors from ELLE, Dep, and other magazines to the Marcom LCDF graduation exhibition, or welcoming media and social channels at C.Dam shows. They were all highly professional characters who were also very friendly and profound.

2. EDITING IMAGES UNDER PRESSURE

Information needs to be updated as quickly as possible in a fashion event. Therefore, the PR team and the visual team must collaborate closely. After receiving image files, my PR team and I have to sift through those celebrity, runway, and red carpet images to select the best ones for press releases and social media updates.

3. CREATING CONTENT QUICKLY

Isn't it chaotic? But the reality is just like that. Usually, we write the outline of the upcoming articles, so we can quickly edit and publish at the time of G. Sometimes, unexpected content and news will arise. Therefore, quick reflexes, flexibility, and high levels of accuracy are key factors.

4. WELCOMING VIP GUESTS AND CELEBRITIES

The PR team will divide into smaller groups with different tasks, but a specific part may welcome VIP guests, celebrities, and KOLs at the red carpet. This job requires skillful communication, professional appearance, and careful calculation of media materials. I have to move around a lot, so my feet may ache a little, and I may need to limit my use of high heels.

5. MOVING FLEXIBILITY BETWEEN POSITIONS AT THE FASHION SHOW

Depending on the nature of each place, the PR team may be assigned to special positions for optimal observation or move around backstage to synthesize information, coordinate of communication, and take images as media materials. This is suitable for those who are dynamic and love to explore.
